drink with me

drink with me

release your inner beast,
through the feast of Dionysus-
welcome the natural inebriation
of the social autobus
transcending the dogma of
Buddha, Muhammad, Jesús-
seeking universal truth over a
chalice of vermouth.

My Dionysian grapes enhance
my landscape-
being drunk with love is
underrated-not talking about taking
the substance as a clutch cuz you’re
hiding from your crutch- I am talking about
tasting the lips of wine, a shared
sip of thine, it ain’t no crime-

If you’re high enough, living in the
sensory reality- come drink with me-
drink of the holy water until you
thirst no more, drink smiles received
from all you adore, drink of the risks and
jumps and bridges of the moment
unsecure, become drunk with the lure
of a life no longer demure.
Are you whitmi?
to instruct me with you’re livin’ poetry-
witnessing the other beyond dichotomy-
freed from sin, recognizin’ as kin, drunk
in eden sweetness, beneath the apple tree!
